This is the fifth ‘I am’ statement of Jesus in the book of John, and He makes this claim just before he raises a man called Lazarus from the dead! His words were not empty talk and impossible promises, they had substance, He really was who He said He was and could do what He said He could do! When we put our trust in Jesus (believe in Him) He brings us back to life too, with the assurance that there will be life to come, with Him, forever! However long my life lasts on earth, it is nothing compared to eternity, everything right now is momentary. Lord, without You I’m just left with the short time I have here, scared of wasting these few years, fearful of missing out, and anxious about my life coming to an end. But thank You for being the Resurrection and the Life. Thank You that there is so much to experience and look forward to with You. Thank You that my life is in Your very capable hands. May I live the greatest life I can now but with one eye always on heaven knowing that the best is still to come! Would You help my hope, my strength, my expectation, and my opportunity to rise today as I put my trust in You. Amen 💪🏼🙏🏼
