Wow, I would love to have been part of that conversation, as Jesus explained where you could find Him in the Old Testament Scriptures! This happened on the day of the resurrection, as two people were walking home from Jerusalem to a place called Emmaus. The risen Jesus joined them and walked with them and they didn’t recognise Him! He could have focused on the miracle as evidence of who He was, but instead He referred them to the truth and the authority of God’s Word, to give context and legitimacy to who He was! And we read that their hearts burned within them, and it was as they invited Jesus in to share bread with Him, and as He broke bread with them that their eyes were opened! I’m praying this week for all those who open their Bibles with an intent to seek truth and be fed; that their hearts would ignite, and that they would get that revelation of who Jesus really is! Lord, as I open Your Word, and read it in the light of Your life, death, resurrection, ascension, and Your promise of return, would You speak to me, wake me up from spiritual complacency, and lead me in Your truth! Thank You for Your Word that is light, life and food to me today. Amen 📖🙏🏼
