“But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1 NLT
The word ransomed in, ‘I have ransomed you,’ means to obtain the release of (a captive) by paying a a price demanded! These words may have been written to the people of Israel but they were fulfilled in the death of Jesus. He paid the ransom price that sin demands, death, so that we could be released from the power and consequences of sin and get to know who we really are and who we truly belong to! God is calling your name today, He’s reminding you how loved and valuable you are to Him and the ransom He was prepared to pay to secure your freedom! So let’s move in to this week unafraid and unashamed, with the confidence that I am His and He is mine! Lord, thank You for saving me, may I be easily identified as yours in all I do and say, pointing people back to You who so desperately need to know Your saving power too. Amen 👆🏼🙏🏼❤️
