“Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory.” 1 Peter 1:21 NLT
I read this quote from Oswald Chambers this week, ‘The ultimate thing is confidence in Jesus. Believe steadfastly on Him and everything that challenges you will strengthen your faith. Faith is absolute trust in God – trust that could never imagine that He would forsake us.’
What is it about the Christian message that can give us such steadfast belief and trust? What is it that proves His faithfulness and backs up all His promises? Well, this verse reminds us of the centrality of the resurrection, that it’s through Jesus, and because God raised Him from the dead that we can have hope and an assured faith. If God would go through the pain of the cross, His merciful love in action, and demonstrate His power through resurrection, then surely we can trust Him for everything and anything else? Lord, thank You for the evidence of Your love, the reality of salvation, and the hope of resurrection that enables me to confidently put my faith and trust in You. Help me to live in the light of Your resurrection today. Amen 👆🏼🙏🏼
